A personal training journal

I built the training log I wanted to use.

Pebble started as a personal project for my own strength training on iPhone. I’m opening it to a small group to see if people who train the same way want it too.

For iPhone on iOS 26. One email when your spot opens. What I store.

Why I made this

A few things bothered me. Between sets, I wanted logging to take seconds. When an app suggested a weight, I wanted to see why. And I didn’t want points or streaks. I just wanted a clear record of the work.

So I built Pebble for myself. I named it after a pebble dropped into still water: something small lands, and what it starts keeps spreading. Each session is one more ring. I use it every time I train.

Now I want to know if it’s useful to anyone else. If you train like this, join the list and tell me how you track things today. I’ll let people in a few at a time and listen closely.

Thanks for reading.

  1. Before you train

    The day is already planned

Your next split day is laid onto today’s page as dashed exercises, each with its last weight and when you did it. Start one and its warm-up sets appear as dashed rows.

  2. Between sets

    Write down what really happened

I wanted each set as quick as a note. One line of weight, reps and RPE, set with a thumb wheel and no typing. Pick the exercise once.

  3. Warm-ups

    Cold, warm or primed

Your first lift gets a full ramp. After another muscle group you’re warm. Train the same muscle again and the ramp gets shorter.

  4. Next time

Rules work out the next weight

Each exercise keeps a book: a weight and a rep window. Your sets are judged against the book, not against your last set. Same history in, same plan out, and I wanted numbers I could check.

Skipped work can roll over

Skip a planned exercise or cardio and you can roll it instead. Cardio goes to tomorrow. An exercise waits for the next day that trains the same region, once the muscle has rested. It arrives marked with the day it came from. Nothing rolls on its own.

Notes point at what they’re about

A note can belong to a set, an exercise, a cardio session or the whole day. Notes gather in the day’s Notes section, each labelled with its target, with a small arrow back at the spot.

A book for every exercise

Questions

What do I need?

An iPhone on iOS 26. Pebble is iPhone only for now.

When can I start?

I’m opening it in small batches so I can keep up with feedback. You’ll get an email when your spot is ready.

Is an AI picking my weights?

No. Fixed rules work out your weights from the sets you logged, and the journal never goes through a model. A language model only helps when you ask Coach Pebble for a program, or when you add a new machine or exercise.

Is this a company?

No. It’s just me, building something I use myself. It’s early, so expect rough edges and things to change as I hear from people.

What happens to my email?

I store it, plus your answers to the two optional questions, only for this waitlist. I also keep where you came from (referrer and any UTM tags) and your browser’s user agent, to see what’s working. I don’t send any email yet; I’ll write when there’s room. This page loads fonts from Google Fonts and a script from cdnjs, so those two services see your visit. There are no other trackers. Write to hello@pebble.training and I’ll delete your address.

Train this way too? Come say hello.

I store your email for this waitlist only. Details.
